Buy this superb bisser and amber necklace hand-crafted by Svetlana, a well recognized Kaliningrad, Russian artisan whose work is collected by jewelry lovers.
Excellent design and craftsmanship characterize this amazing, versatile creation that can be worn with evening, day or casual wear.
Turquoise glass beads and natural honey amber chunks layer a blond bisser hand beaded band that is further covered by tiny blue metallic bisser beads. These metallic beads are also found at the ends of the desirable tiny honey glass striklarus trumpet tube beads. The detailed assembly of these tiny pieces creates a terrific sense of texture and color. A honey bisser loop and natural amber flat nugget comprise the clasp.
Striking leafed cognac bisser branches descend from the bottom third of the band. An amazing array of red and cognac naturally shaped flat amber pieces, many with fissures, and hand-cut faceted turquoise drops dangle gracefully from the branches. Looped bisser leafs also make an appearance throughout and a good number are tipped with a turquoise glass bead, contributing to the design s appealing texture.
Outstanding attention to detail resonates throughout piece and contributes to the wonderful compositional whole! Note how tiny blue metallic beads tip the ends of the cognac bisser branch that secures the amber, turquoise, and turquoise glass beads tip many of the bisser leafs.
Approximate dimensions: From end to end, the necklace strand is 18 1/2 inches long; the longest dangling branch (at the center) is 5 inches long.
Truly a magnificent piece that promises to become a favorite that is handed down through the generations.
More information about Luba s bisser and amber jewelry:
Bisser and amber jewelry is seldom found outside of Russia and is sought after.
Creating jewelry from tiny bisser beads is an extremely labor-intensive hand-woven process and only around 15 artisans are trained to do so. The exquisite, high quality tiny glass beads are made in the Czech Republic. When used in jewelry, they produce not just extraordinary luster, detail, and texture, but feel like silk when touched.
The amber in this jewelry comes from Kaliningrad Russia, a region that provides 92% of the world’s finest Baltic amber. Baltic-Sea area dates back approximately 55 million years to the Eocene period and is considered among the most precious available. Amber can present itself in a most glorious way when it is embedded with sun spangles, tiny golden specks, that occur when the amber has been heated.
The jewelry is mostly designed by Luba, a recognized jeweler whose work has been featured in museum stores, including the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and the University of Pennsylvania Museum.
Luba’s bisser and amber jewelry has become famous and is sought after. In 2007, Luba presented a rosary of rare royal amber to the Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican. In 2008 Miss USA wore one of Luba’s necklaces for the Las Vegas pageant, drawing much attention to the stunning piece that accented in a striking manner the contestant’s beauty.
Luba’s bisser and amber is lightweight, yet durable, making it extremely comfortable to wear. Each work truly is a timeless work of art.
