Collect this exceptional Patricia Breen "Perchen's Tree" mouth-blown and handcrafted Polish glass Christmas tree ornaments, 2003, B2340, 2340.
The beautiful European hand blown glass ornament was created in 2003, retired, and is a highly collectible art theme ornament.
Breen's tree ornaments have become commonly referred to as "Patricia Breen's forest" and each celebrates an extraordinary artist. This one honors Perchen, the creator of the Russian Faberge egg!
The tree itself is rendered in a manner comparable to how Faberge eggs were produced. Set in relief, a wide golden, beveled band divides the tree into four sections that each house an exquisite faberge egg.
Each Faberge egg sits on a golden glittered Fleur de Lis with red, clear, Green, or golden Swarvoski accents, but is then individually defined as follows:
** Plaid green lines and red crystal accented intersecting golden bands adorn a shiny red egg.
** Golden vertical ribs accented with golden and green crystals adorn a golden egg.
** Golden glittered flowers centered with green and golden crystals adorn a shiny red egg.
** Alternating green and golden horizontal glittered bands paved respectively with clear and green crystals adorn a shiny green egg.
History of the Fabrege Perchen eggs:
Michael Perchen was a highly skilled & talented Russian artist who, who with the help of Henrik Wistrom, created the Faberge Imperial Easter Eggs from 1883 to 1904. Each year the Tzar of Russia commissioned Perchen to create a new egg to give to his wife for Easter. The Faberge eggs demonstrated the profuse and ornate use of gold, fine gems, and not only required extraordinary craftsmanship, but were artistically beautiful and extremely rare.
Approximately 5 inches tall, the handblown Perchen tree is a great addition to an art theme or to any Patricia Breen glass ornament collection.
